Merlin MRP Factory 9  User Settings

1:  Learning to Add Users and Set Access Level

Please Note:  Administrators oly can do this. You will need to enter your User Name and Password to gain access.

You start out, of course, with only the one User Account for the Administrator. You can add as many Users as you wish, and give them whatever User Privileges you wish according to their need, including, where appropriate, Administrator.

If you have multiple users, it is good practice to log-out of Merlin when you are away from your PC, so that anybody else wishing to use it will have to log-in with their own ID, which means that any Critical Changes they make are recorded as theirs rather than yours, and they have acceess only according to the permissions you grant them here.

Identify the Administration tab at the top right of the Merlin MRP Factory 9 Home Screen, and click it.  This screen will appear.

To the centre-right of the Administration Centre you will see MANAGE USERS.  Click this, and the Manage User Accounts wizard will appear.  Proceed to Step 2.

2:  Managing Users

It is a good idea to change the Password for the default user account, so click the EDIT button, and the screen will look as shown. Click on the Password field, delete the current entry, and type your new password. Then click SAVE.

Hint: Hover your mouse pointer over the asterisks, and the password will be shown for a few seconds.

To create Accounts for other Users, click the NEW button.

Enter their real name, their user name, assign them a password and an Access Level: Administrator, Manager, User or Look-up.  Only Administrators can access or change this. The Access Levels are explained on the Help tab.

This takes you to Step 3.

3:  Checking users Logged-in

The Users tab lists everybody who has a User Account. Click one to View, Edit or Remove it.

The Logged In Now  tab shown here lists (yes, you've guessed it) All Users who are currently logged-in to the Merlin System.  You'll be pleased to know that's all there is to it!

Database Maintenance:  To the top left of the panel you will see a buttone to ACTIVATE Database Maintenance Mode.  Once Activated, users will be given look-up access only.  No changes can be made to the data.  This would apply in the unlikely event that you had to seek support from Merlin to fix a database issue,  Once the issue has been resolved, you can Restore Normal Access by using the same button.
